Important Message regarding School Messenger calls
The Carthage Elementary School District utilizes School Messenger to notify parents/guardians and students with important information, such as school closings, practice cancellations, early dismissals, lunch balances, etc. In order to make this system work as efficiently as possible, we ask that you please follow the guidelines below:
- The call will come from 217-357-3922 - Please answer when you receive a call from this number. It will either be a School Messenger call or someone from the Superintendent’s Office trying to contact you. We suggest that you add this number to your contacts in your cell phone.
- If you do not answer the call, it should leave a voice mail. Please be sure we have a phone number that has voice mail or an answering machine connected to it.
- Please DO NOT immediately call the number back. This ties up the phone lines at the Superintendent’s Office. Instead, go to www.cesd317.org and the message should be scrolling across the front page of the district website OR check PowerSchool regarding your child's lunch account balance.
- If you would like to add additional numbers to the School Messenger calling list, please let one of the school secretaries know and they will add this to your student’s information.
- School closings, cancellations and early dismissals can also be found at KHQA.com and WGEM.com
- The messages we send out pertain to the elementary district (grades PreK-8th) only. Illini West High School District (grades 9-12) is a separate district with their own notification system.
