Meal Service During Remote Learning

This message is to inform Carthage Elementary School District parents and students of the meal service plan during remote learning. We will be offering both breakfast and lunch to students each day of remote learning. If you are interested in receiving meals for your student, here are 7 things you will need to know:

  1. Your student must be enrolled in the Carthage Elementary School District to participate.
  2. The meals will not automatically be free for all students, like they were the last 8 weeks of school, but rather each student will be charged according to their current lunch status.
  3. Once you sign up for meals, you are expected to pick them up each day, unless a call is made to the school prior to 10AM the morning of the cancellation.
  4. The meals will be picked up at a designated time (likely between 11:45-12:15) and each student will receive lunch for that day and breakfast for the following day.
  5. Pick up will be available in the middle school alley AND the circle drive of the high school, depending on which school your child attends.  If you have children in both buildings, you may choose which building to pick up at.  If you have a high school student and elementary school student, you would pick up at the high school.
  6. A delivery option, especially for those students living outside of Carthage, may be implemented. We are still in the planning stages.
  7. To sign your student up for school meals, or to ask questions, please contact Cynthia at the Superintendent’s office at 217-357-3922, before 10AM on Thursday, August 20th. If no one is available to take your call, please leave your name, your student’s name and your phone number and someone will get back to you.
