Good morning Carthage community!
As we prepare for the incoming school year, the Board wanted to provide you an update on our administrative structures. Superintendent Dr. Dustin Day, in light of the lateness in the traditional hiring times for building administrators, recommended to the Board of Education and made known that he was willing to serve in the dual roles of District Superintendent and Carthage Middle School Principal. We are hopeful this change will ensure continuity of leadership and support of ongoing district systems and operations that guide our district and support the growth of our staff and our students.
In addition, and to support Dr. Day in taking on these additional responsibilities, the Board is interviewing educational consultants who will work closely with the board of education, superintendent, faculty, staff, and community to ensure that all aspects of our school are successfully managed. The consultant will provide guidance, program and administrative assistance, system level management, and support to district #317.
We believe that these decisions will lead to greater alignment and collaboration between the elementary and middle schools, ultimately benefitting our students by providing a seamless educational experience from elementary through middle school. We look forward to a wonderful and productive year ahead.
Gary Jackson
President CESD #317
